Too Loud Inside Your Factory? 2 Tips For Making It Less Noisy

Posted on

If you own a factory that is noisy, this can hurt your employees' hearing, especially for those that have worked in your factory for a long time. Fortunately, there are many things you can do to reduce this noise, two of which are listed below.

1. Use Acoustic Carpet Pad for Carpeted Areas

You can install a commercial acoustic carpet pad in areas of your factory that are carpeted to reduce the noise. These pads will absorb sounds coming from equipment. One type of pad that can be used is made of a special type of foam that easily absorbs noise and prevents the noise from coming back out of the carpet. There are also other types of pads that can be used, such as pads made of rubber, vinyl, and cork.

Your current carpeting will have to be removed. Because of this would be a good time to replace your carpeting if it is old. If your carpeting is not old and in good shape, the company can ensure the carpeting is placed over the soundproofing carpet pad and look back to normal again.

The thickness of the carpet pad is also important. The thickness you need depends on how noisy your factory is. For example, you will need a pad that is two to three inches thick if you have a very noisy factor. If not, then a pad that is approximately one inch thick would work well.

2. Use Soundproofing Treatments for Walls

If you have any factory machines that produce a lot of noise close to walls, you should consider installing soundproofing wall treatments. These treatments are made of the same materials as carpet padding, such as foam or rubber. You can find these treatments in a variety of colors and styles, so you will not have to worry about these affecting the look of your factory.

These soundproofing wall treatments will also help absorb vibrations that come from machinery that is close to the walls. Hire a company to install these treatments for you as it is important that they fit correctly. They come in different lengths and widths, or the company can cut the materials from a roll to the proper size to fit your walls.

Once you follow these two tips, you should notice a big difference in the amount of noise you hear while in your factory. Your employees will also appreciate this very much, and this may cause them to miss less work.
